Don’t Discount the Discount.

*Spec for Top’s Art Supplies, a small art supply store in Los Angeles

Insight: People think discounts decrease the perceived value of items, giving the impression that there’s something wrong with the product

Idea: There’s nothing wrong with discounted items. In fact, they can actually make a huge difference

Used Art Supply Gallery

Top’s will showcase used supplies of artists who made it to greatness—labeled with the discount on the item—as well as the artwork they made with those supplies. Each art piece will be discounted, with the difference given to support Top’s Art Supplies.

Top’s Top Stars Walk of Fame

LA is known for honoring its stars at the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We’ll honor customers who made it to stardom—real local artists—by installing a Top’s Top Stars Walk of Fame right where they started their journey: at our store. Each star will have a QR code that leads to that artist’s website, so people can learn more about them.

Top’s School for Struggling Artists

Anytime there’s budget cuts, art is the first to go. Top’s will create an after-school art school sponsored and taught by renowned LA artists Christina Quarles and Mark Bradford to show schools the importance of accessibility to art.
